Outdoor enthusiast and certified scuba diver Dan Melnick is an attorney with over three decades of legal experience. Beginning with his undergraduate work, majoring in History at the University of California, Los Angeles, Mr. Melnick has established a successful legal career, becoming a prominent criminal defense attorney in the process. Upon earning his Bachelor’s degree in 1975, Mr. Melnick attended the San Fernando Valley College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate in June 1978.

After earning his J.D., Dan Melnick began his career as a labor law specialist in Chicago, Illinois. In 1983, however, he returned to the Los Angeles area and changed his focus to criminal defense cases. In the nearly three decades since, he has represented thousands of clients in a wide array of cases and holds membership in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Dan Melnick runs his law firm, the Law Offices of Melnick and Spindel, from Encino, California. The firm offers representation for various criminal charges but specializes in clients facing Driving Under the Influence charges. Mr. Melnick represents each client through all courtroom proceedings and serves as a representative in dealing with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, handling issues with license suspensions and restrictions.

In his spare time, Dan Melnick enjoys sailing, and even once crafted a sailboat with a friend and sailed it from California to Hawaii. He is also a PADI-certified scuba diver and competitive hockey player. Mr. Melnick’s love for the game has taken him to games and tournaments all over the world, including Sweden, Norway, Austria, Finland, and Australia.
